Cloverfield TV Commercial #3

ShockTilYouDrop.com has the exclusive third Cloverfield TV commercial. There is no new footage shown, however, the explosion seen from Rob's rooftop appears to have some new CGI.

MovieWeb Exclusive: Cloverfield Commercial

Paramount Pictures have provided MovieWeb with an exclusive first look at the next Cloverfield TV commercial. The video contains a few never-before seen scenes from the upcoming film, and is a much better quality (and different) than the commercial previously seen.

Cloverfield advertising has finally hit the small screen. So far there are only a couple low quality versions available on YouTube, but for now, they'll have to do. This one seems to be the better of the two.

Cloverfield Exclusive Preview

JamieAndTeddy.com has been updated once again. This time, Jamie is a little upset that Teddy still hasn't called, written, e-mailed, or text messaged her. But, I think we all know why. December 9th has come and it's time for Jamie to open her gift from her once-beloved Teddy. And she does! Quite exciting.

I wanted to do it on the phone with you, but you haven't called or responded to any of my text messages...pretty much disappeared from my life, so...
[Grabs gift]
I'm going to open your gift because I gave you my word that I would wait, and here we go.
[Begins to open gift off camera]
Well, at least you're good at wrapping.
[Grabs scissors to help open the box]
I mean, you can't even pick up a [mumbled] phone and let me know anything?
[Pulls out a Slusho! hat, tries it on, and tosses it]
Thanks for the hat...You know, most people send jewelry.
[Pulls out a plastic bag with tin foil in it]
"Primary evidence. Freeze ASAP. Jamie, don't eat this."

Cloverfield Trailer #2 Leaked

And as much as I hate using a pirated copy, here it is, folks! Enjoy it while you can, because I'm sure this will be pulled soon. Hopefully, JJ Abrams and Paramount will realize they can't keep this under wraps for much longer and they post the real deal on Apple Trailers.



UPDATE: It's sounding like we'll see an official release of the trailer on Monday.

JamieAndTeddy.com has been updated once again. This time, Jamie is a little upset Teddy hasn't called and decides to strip for him to a song by some punk band, The Glass Helmets (not a real band, as far as we can tell). There's some talk about "The Cause" and then the video is over.

Umm, I ran into your skanky ex-girlfriend, and she basically threatened me and said that she was going to tell you that I was making out with guys on the dance floor, which is 100% not true. And I would expect for you to believe me over her.
I mean she obviously still likes you and it’s…it’s really obvious. And I’m not going to entertain but, I just wish that you would trust me, I mean, you know, I went out with my girlfriends and you’re the one that’s off saving the world and, you know, following your dream, but you left me here. All right, I finally figured out how to work the camera, and I have about 15 horny girls waiting to go to Girls Night down stairs, so I have to make this really quick.

But, I'm here talking to you right now because of two reasons:

1: Because I miss you, I miss you so much, and...

2: Because you really effed me up with this gift, you can not--thank you by the way--but you can not send a girl a gift and tell her to open it on December 9th, which is forever away. You just can't do that. But, I gave you my word and it's going to sit here right at the edge of my bed until, until you say that I can open it, because I gave you my word.

Again, the significance of this video is lost on me. I'm sure there are several subtle clues about...something. For instance, Jamie receives a gift from Teddy, but she can't open it until December 9. Is this how long Cloverfield fans have to wait for more solid information? Jamie also mentions an answer to one of Teddy's questions, which is "SIX times." Whatever that means. Oh, and she appears to be drinking cranberry juice (possibly with some vodka). I wonder how that bladder infection is treating her?

The site is simply this picture of two bears, with the message, "Just for you Teddy-bear! I miss ya like CRAZY already!!!Love, your Lil' Lascano." Click on the picture and you'll be led to a password page. The password is jllovesth.

Some people have complained that the video locks up their computer, so luckily Dennis at Cloverfield Clues has uploaded the video on YouTube. You can check that out below.

Since news has been sparse lately, there's not much to report. However, the Noah and the guys at Horsehead Businessman have been hard at work creating some plans to help Save Rob.

1-18-08 Central Park Set Photos

Slashfilm has a wonderful article with a couple reports from the set of Cloverfield/1-18-08, which shot on Monday in Central Park.



(Minor Spoiler Warning)

According to nooneimportant77, the first sequence involved (minor spoiler warning) a very bloody Rob and an unidentified girl (presumably Lily, played by actress Jessica Lucas) huddled under an over pass in Central Park. They exchange some lines, before Rob starts saying “look at me look at me”. Cue dust and bricks which fall on them while they scream. Then the production crew hoisted a big black tarp over one side of the over pass, which our source thinks was used to simulate more rubble falling.

Sounds like our friends from the trailer may play a bigger part than some people have speculated. And after watching some of the video, my thought is that the black tarp was used to block out the light. It's possible that the tarp could be used to simulate the monster(s) walking by. I'm sure time will tell.

Another interesting tidbit is that they were shooting with professional film or HD cameras, and not a consumer/prosumer grade camera.

CNBC "Overnight" Coverage

It looks like CNBC is relying heavily on bloggers for information. Last week Julia Boorstin interviewed me for a segment on "On the Money." Now, Melissa Francis from the same show has interviewed Peter Sciretta from Slashfilm. Speculation says the title of this mysterious movie might be "Overnight."
